As plans to implement an RFID-only policy before the year ends become all the more inevitable as the government also encouraged cashless transactions in this time of the pandemic, a tollways firm pushes further for a “no contact entry” with Easytrip RFID Stickers.
“We intend to deliver on our commitment to public service,” said Celeste Pia Alimon, Asst. Vice President for Branding & Communication of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC).
“The no-contact entries and exits on NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C-5 Southlink, and CALAX minimize the risk of exposure to the virus.”
According to MPTC, reducing the practice of handling cash significantly reduces coronavirus transmission. It also noted the rising value of digital payments as well as the relevance of contact-less activities, including the use of Radio Frequency Identification or RFID.
Easytrip Asst. Marketing Manager Trishia Garduno said every purchase of Easytrip Stick-It-Yourself RFID comes with a positioning guide, user guide, and an RFID card with an initial load of P500. Launched in May by Easytrip, a subsidiary of MPTC, Easytrip Stick-It-Yourself RFID may be purchased through leading online shopping merchants as well as gas stations and tollways.
“There are reading materials available as well in the official Easytrip Facebook and website, including a step-by-step order process, an FAQ form, and even a how-to video guide for customers,” Garduno said.
